1up USA Quik-Rack Instruction

Be sure your receiver is clean and free of dirt.  Use wire brush and water to clean.

Step 1: If you have a two inch receiver on your vehicle then the Quik-Rack is ready to mount.  If you have a 1-1/4 inch receiver on your vehicle then remove the Allen bolt that holds the 2 inch adapter block with the silver Allen tool provided.  Remember to keep the adapter block, screw and Allen tool handy in case you want to mount the Quik-Rack to a vehicle equipped with a two inch receiver.

Step 2: Move the two blue tray locks to the horizontal position so the trays can open over them.  Open both tray halves, then move the two blue tray locks vertical to keep the trays from folding back.

Step 3: Insert the Quik-Rack into your receiver (only 1-2 inches).  Now pivot the rack to the vertical or straight up position.  This is done by pulling the spring loaded Black Pivot Lock Bar toward you.

Step 4: Push the rack into the receiver as far as it will go, then tighten silver Allen bolt with the gold Allen tool provided.  Tighten the bolt VERY TIGHT.  The silver ball on in the corner of the hitch bar must be at least 1 inch within the vehicles receiver.  The deeper the hitch bar is within the receiver the better.  Shake the Quik-Rack to make sure there is no wobble or movement, and the hitch bar is tight within the receiver.

Tighten the silver Allen bolt with the gold Allen tool later and from time to time to assure tightness.

Installing an Add-On to carry an additional bike

With the Quik-Rack in the vertical position loosen the two Silver Allen bolts until they stop.  They are located on the top or end of the rack.  Position the Add-On so the heads of the Allen bolts line up with the holes on the Add-On mounting plate.  Then set it over the heads of the Allen bolts and slide it to the right.  Now tighten the two Allen bolts (½ a turn or so) with the gold Allen tool.  Make sure the bolts are tight and that there is no play.  Check to see if the Add-On is flush on both sides and lines up evenly.

How to Pivot the Quik-Rack

To pivot the Quik-Rack to any one of four positions you must pull the Black Pivot Lock Bar towards you, and then pivot the rack to the desired position.  The spring loaded Black Pivot Lock Bar will jump into one of three stop slots.  The top slot (position 1) is the vertical position.  The second slot (position 2) is for extra clearance (large bumper or spare tire).  The third slot (position 3) is the transportation slot (bikes on rack position).  Position 4 does not have a slot and is used to lower the bikes down to gain access to the trunk or hatch of the vehicle.

Note: Be sure the Black Pivot Lock Bar is fully engaged into the slots.

Check by pulling the rack up and down for full engagement.  Then tighten the black knob.

Loading your bikes on the Quik-Rack

Step 1: To open the Support Arm you must hold upward on the red Arm Stop while opening each Support Arm.  To close the Support Arm just push them down.  Do not touch the red Arm Stop while closing.

Step 2: Set your bike on the tray, then close the Support Arms.  Be sure your bike is centered on the tray so both Support Arms are at the same approximate angle.  The Support Arms will not open unless you hold upward on the red Arm Stop.  This keeps the bike held securely as the Support Arms can not open.  Push hard inward on the Support Arms to squash the tires with the wheel spools.  When loading bikes it is best to face your bikes in opposite directions for better clearance.  The Quik-Rack is shipped ready for 26”, 27” 29” or 700-C wheels.  If your bike has smaller wheels you can move the wheel spools lower on the Support Arms to accommodate wheels as small as 16 inch.  It is normal for the rack to flex when you push on the bikes.  This helps cushion the bikes from bumps in the road preventing wheel or frame damage.

To unload bikes push inward on the Support Arm to relieve pressure on the Red Arm Stop.

Note: Small dents on the silver Glide Bar are normal.  This is caused by the Arm Stop.
